I especially like the looks of the DW ECO and/or Guardian 9mms but they've basically been going at $1500+++ and I've still never seen one in person. The STI's and DW's I like are all $1200+ and I haven't been able to handle any in person, either. I like the looks and reviews of the STI's and especially the Dan Wessons, but $1000 or "maybe just over", is definitely my max for now. I just figured there are a lot of brands out there, I knew I couldn't get into any of the Browns, Baers, etc., so I'd stick with what I know, Colt, SA & Kimber, and I'd always find what I wanted/needed. I was not thinking there was anything wrong with them. I had not considered the Sig line in the past. I definitely did not want a straight-up "Commander", so I knew I wouldn't be buying the Fastback Carry (not "different enough" from what I already have) so no harm in checking that out too, right? Damn. While we're at it what does Sig call a "Compact"? Oh, basically a stainless C3? Yeah, let me see that. Next to it was a C3, same color scheme.nice. I've been missing it lately and the Sig reminded me of it. I used to own a Springfield Micro-Compact. It was a 2-tone model, (wood grips, black frame, stainless slide). (My full-size guns are a Colt and a Springfield.) It was already tough to decide between these 4 but I still kinda thought I'd leave with one of the 9mm's because that's what I came in for. I went to the 2 models I mentioned and also a Colt CCO and Springfield Lightweight Champion because I've admired these models for a while also. The shop had quite a collection of 1911's. I knew both of these were in stock before I went in. I went into my LGS expecting to examine a Colt Defender and Springfield EMP, both in 9mm, and was sure to buy one or the other. 45 so my next purchase will be something "other than". I've been primarily considering 9mm versions just for a little variety. I've been saving for a while for my next 1911. Because they distracted me and prevented me from buying a new gun today!
